Cutting-Edge Remote Asset Health Monitoring Center to be inaugurated in Mount Pearl, NL

July 5, 2023
Atlantic Controls, a division of Laurentide, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Remote Asset Health Monitoring Center. Created in collaboration with the Government of Newfoundland and funded by the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry Recovery Assistance Fund (OGIRA), this state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced monitoring equipment, technologies, and training facilities to help industry thrive in Eastern Canada.

Monitoring Critical Assets in Real Time

Remote asset health monitoring, also called remote condition monitoring, replaces in-person field readings of asset health data with constant, remote monitoring via connected sensors linked to a gateway and software.

The Remote Asset Health Monitoring Center is dedicated to monitoring the condition of critical plant assets such as valves, instruments, pumps, rotating equipment, and more. With this center, Atlantic Controls and Laurentide aim to help plants detect problems in real time, before they affect the flexibility or reliability of their operations.

How can plants optimize technology and implement predictive maintenance?

When asked: how can plants optimize technology and implement predictive maintenance? Mattieu Berlinguette, Laurentide Controls’ Director of Digital Transformation, replied: "Our certified specialists will help you optimize the use of existing technology to maximize its potential. Following actionable recommendations, you will be able to implement a predictive maintenance strategy to reduce the costs and variability of your processes while increasing the reliability of your plant."

Enhanced Maintenance and Performance Improvements

Through remote monitoring and predictive analytics, clients gain access to real-time asset data, enabling enhanced maintenance optimization and performance improvements. Laurentide Controls' global network of experts efficiently analyzes data from assets such as valves, actuators, regulators, and other rotating equipment (pumps, agitators, fans, conveyors, etc.) to provide valuable insights and recommendations based on these insights.

"We can develop a secure communication network to transfer your plant’s data to our cloud-based software systems. Our team of experts can provide you with valuable insights and recommendations based on these analyses to improve your overall plant performance," added Berlinguette.

Grand Opening on July 19, 2023

Laurentide Controls' Remote Asset Health Monitoring Center is set to open on July 19, 2023. This revolutionary facility is set to redefine monitoring and maintenance services, equipping clients with the tools needed to achieve their productivity and performance ambitions. Located in Mount Pearl, near St. John's, Newfoundland, the center will serve industries located in all of Eastern Canada, including Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and the Ottawa valley in Eastern Ontario.
